This goes back to how Mr. B tied jigs back in the early 90's.  He had huge success with this style of Football jig and have had many requests to bring it back.  This bait starts with a smaller 3/0 Gamakatsu Jig Hook.  Another difference is the Hand-Tied, Double-Wire Weedguard.  It mostly helps to keep the trailer from getting hooked on the hook point but will lightly deflect cover also.  It makes Hooksets a breeze and almost unnecessary.  The Football Jig is one of the most effective designs ever created for rock structure. Its oblong shape allows it to “walk” over and around rocks, clay, sandstone and other hard bottoms.
