My name is Josh, and my family and I started My Local Tackle Shop in Central Illinois in 2025. The idea grew from something we didn’t fully appreciate until we started looking: all across the country, anglers are creating great fishing tackle in garages, small workshops and family-run shops—but many of those products never reach anglers outside their local area.

That discovery became our purpose.

Our mission is to connect anglers with independent, owner-operated tackle makers and make their products and stories easier to discover.

We search for small fishing brands across the United States, learn about the people behind their products and bring their gear together in one place. Our selection includes bass and crappie soft plastics, jigs, swimbaits, spinnerbaits, terminal tackle and other hard-to-find fishing gear.

Some products are poured, painted or assembled by hand. Others are original designs developed through years of fishing, testing and refinement. What they share is a real person or family behind them.

The “local” in our name doesn’t mean every maker is from our hometown. It means every maker is local somewhere—and we believe those businesses deserve the opportunity to reach anglers nationwide.

We’re a small business supporting other small businesses, one lure and one story at a time.
